A Family Journey from Ethiopia to New Haven

Solomon and Tigist bring generations of Ethiopian culinary tradition to Whitney Avenue. After running successful restaurants in Ethiopia and Dubai, they chose New Haven to share their passion for authentic Ethiopian cuisine.

Every dish is prepared with love by our family - Solomon, Tigist, and their children Yossias and Yeabsira - using traditional recipes passed down through generations.

Habesha Ethiopian Cuisine

Habesha Ethiopian cuisine is traditionally served on a large, thin pancake called injera. This yeast-risen flatbread, made from teff, features a spy texture that complements a variety of flavorful dishes.

Meals typically enjoyed with fingers, sharing from a communal where injera serves as the base, surrounded by an assortment of dishes. This practice symbolizes loyalty and friendship, enhancing the overall dining experience.dship.
